My birthday run + cupcakes & an awesome workout!

So this is what I have to look forward to today.

Livefit Trainer Phase 3 has begin and it's kicking my ass. Literally. Those sprints yesterday - help me sweet baby Jesus today to survive!

Cori at Olive to Run posted this workout the other day and it looked pretty FUN! I dare one of you to give it a try and let me know how AWESOME it is. I'm sure it's awesome sauce!

On Saturday I did what I dubbed as my birthday run! It was a fun run 5K with the NAACP who were in town for their 104th conference (I believe). It was nice to go out and support them and it was FREE and full of all my favorite BGR sisters! Only downfall was the hot humid florida heat. My GAWD! But the italian ice at the finish line totally made up for it. Well kind of.

Best thing about the run besides being surrounded by awesome people was the fact that it was the first time since I started back running that I really ran an entire 5K distance. I only took teeny 5-10 sec breaks at the water stations. Other than that I kept chugging along with my booski D. I was happy with my time too. With that heat (even at 7 in the morning) I couldn't complain!

So last week as you all know I celebrated my birthday. (Celebration shall continue in less than 2 weeks in Atlantic City with Queen Bey). Well because of this awesome holiday - yes my birthday is a holiday - I had to indulge a bit in lots of cupcakes. Like 5.

I ate cupcakes Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On Sunday I did a water flush to combat all that icing. Oh how delicious that icing was though. I'm pretty sure when I'm 150 years old and on my dying bed I'm going to ask for a cupcake as my last meal.

All cupcakes are from Gigi's Cupcakes!

Some more eats from this past week.

Awesome Black bean burger & fries from TooJays

Italian ice at the farmer's market

I made London Broil for the 1st time and it was so good!

Brussel Sprouts made / roasted in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes!

Simple breakfast. Spinach Omelet with Ezekial Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin!

Amazing taco. Ground turkey, shredded roman lettuce, salsa, 2% part skim mozzarella cheese, & plain greek yogurt!

Hope everyone has a great day!
Also thanks so much to everyone for the bday well wishes. I'm behind on replying to comments but I will :)
Is it hot and humid where you are? Or just hot? Or maybe even cool??
What's your go to breakfast?

  1. Hope you had a good birthday! I agree frosting is the best part; if the frosting isnt good then the cake is a complete let down for me!
