TIP for Tat: Listen to your body!


I am behind - like way behind - on doing my random acts of kindness. (My July goal of the month). So far I have done... 1. & that was today. I complimented someone randomly. 25 more to go. I'm working on my list. A few things I want to do is send care packages for people in the military, leave money randomly in books, pay for someone's order in the drive thru, leave money in the vending machine, leave random notes on people cars, send thank you letters, volunteer, donate clothes. So I have ideas, I just haven't gotten the ball rolling. I am really excited to do the care packages because I've never done one before.



So my birthday is in two days and I'm very nonchalent about it.
That is REALLY unlike me. I'm a huge "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY" kind of person. But this year I'm just like, "Eh.". I don't know if it's old age or the fact that last year I celbrated in Paris or the fact that I'm so use to celebrating with my closest friends and all but 2 of them have moved away. :( I personally don't have any plans until the end of the month to celebrate so Thursday I guess I will just chill and relax and be happy to see another year. However in honor of my birthday week I am having a giveaway tomorrow. Come back by to see what is up for grabs!!

Tip Tuesday:  Listen to your body.

So today's leg workout didn't go quite as planned. I started off my workout with narrow leg press. Well my knee started hurting. Don't know if it was the weight or just not my knees day today.  So I finished those up and headed to do the barbell squats. I was suppose to do 2 lighter sets of 15 then 2 heavier sets of 15. For the lighter set I planned on doing 30lbs, 50 for heavy sets. Well I stuck with 30 for the whole thing. Listened to my body. I then moved on to walking squats. Decided to go lighter and just do 20lb barbell but soon realized that no weight was better. For the remainder of my workout that required barbell weight that would put added pressure on my knee, I didn't use any weight. It sucked but at the same time I have to remember that if I don't listen to my body I can injure myself and then I won't be able to work out at all and I surely don't want that to happen. So PLEASE always listen to your body. If u feel pain - stop. Know the difference between something being uncomfortable and something being painful.

  1. I once sent a friend in Iraq a box of Avon goodies and she loved it, and she shared with other ladies in the Army too who were happy for a new lipgloss or hand lotion. So, if you're short on ideas for care packages for the military, that would be my suggestion!

  2. I'm usually a WOOO-HOOO Birthday kind of person too and this year it just fell flat. I guess I'm happy to be a year older, but I wish I would stop aging, lol.

    I'm with you on listening to your body. It's actually all I've been doing lately - hopefully it pays off. Good luck with the rest of your acts of kindness and Happy Birthday!

  3. I've never sent a care package. I like the idea of leaving money in books. The people who tend to checkout books in the library need it quite often. IMO.

    It is important to listen to your body!
