Bombshell to Bombshell #1: Lift Weights


Every so often I want to start doing post that are a little bit more on the serious side about things that I have come to realize on my journey that I would like to share that will hopefully encourage, motivate, inspire, help or whatever someone else that is on theirs. So the idea of Bombshell to Bombshell (or Bomb for my guy readers if there are any lol) was brought to life. Enjoy my first installment. 


Bombshell to Bombshell: Lift Weights

This is something I wish I would have knew in the beginning of my journey then I wouldn't be stuck where I am today. Struggling to lose all this excess body fat. People look at me and say "Oh you're so skinny now" and I look at myself in the mirror - naked - and think "I still have a ways to go." Clothes hide things people. I want to look amazing naked not just in clothes. & no it's honestly not just about looks as it is still and always will be more about my health. My body fat is
above 30% and that is considered overweight. Put's me at risk for health diseases that I want to prevent if I can. I may look slim and trim and all that because most people are looking at the before picture of where I've come from and seeing where I am now and yes obviously I am way smaller but I am still not truly fit like I want to be. My ultimate goal is to be at 20% body fat. I have a ways to go.



Things may have been different had I started my journey lifting weights or at least incorporating weight training in more along with cardio. A lot of people (majority females) think that cardio is the best way to lose weight and get in shape but that's not the whole equation. You need weight training to tone and build muscle that your skin can attach itself too. 

I didn't do that. I didn't really start weight training until last year and by then I had already lost 100lbs. So now that left me with excess fat. So now what am I doing? Building muscle to help burn that fat and tone at the same time. 




So all you on your weight loss journey please incorporate weight training at least 2 times per week. 3 times would be best. 4 times would be awesome. You won't bulk up and all that. Our bodies aren't made to do that. But I must warn you, you may develop sickening sexy shoulders.
