Sometimes I just want to punch myself...


My body has been yelling at me. Or more like kicking me in the ass back - literally. Let's take it back to Monday.  Monday was the beginning of Phase 3 of Livefit Trainer. The workout was intense. I did 135 smith machine squats o_O and 45 jump squats. Well while doing the smith machines squats I did feel my back hurting a little but I charged it to it just being sore from a back workout not that I may be lifting to much.

Back on the pavement!!! Running how I've missed thee.

Afternooners!


So I went for a run this morning. 
I did 5 miles in almost 52 mins.
I originally said I was only going to do 3.
But I still felt somewhat good at my supposed turn around point so I kept going. 
I did run intervals.
Something like 5 min run 1 min walk.   
That way I wouldn't feel like I was totally overdoing it. 
It felt so good getting back out on the pavement. 
The chiropractor I went to called me yesterday while I was out.
He had reviewed my X-rays, and indeed found that there are some 
things in my spine that are out of alignment which could be causing my pain. 
It can be fixed.
He said it's okay for me to run though and workout ^_^
But because things aren't aligned - especially in my lower back -
that it could cause nerves to be irritated which results in my pain. 
Now the issue is seeing how much it is going to cost to get adjustments done.
He will go over that tomorrow when I go in for my first adjustment. 
If it's too much, I might go to a physical therapist. 
Anyone have any opinions on this??

Get Fit Friday's! - Get up & get moving!



I challenge you to get fit today! Do something and get moving, run, jump, dance, zumba whatever! Just get active today! On Friday's I usually workout on my breaks and today as it got closer to break time I kept trying to make an excuse to not workout! But I killed those thoughts and did my Blogilates workout.  There will be days that you just don't want to workout! & that is okay but push through those days. Remember how you feel AFTER you workout (and scraped yourself off the ground as you caught your breath or felt the feeling in your legs returned) and let that feeling guide you to do that next workout!

I am newly addicted to Blogilates youtube channel and blog. The founder, Cassey Ho, is this cute little Asian girl that really makes her insane workouts fun! Check her out. She puts out calendar's each month and this month I'm actually giving her April Challenge a go.

Anywho, yesterday I went to a Chiropractor to see if my "injury" is related to any type of spinal alignment. He took some xrays and on Monday I go back to see if he can help and if so will get an adjustment done. Still no running. Life sucks.

Today I came across some cool things I had no clue existed like Conferences for people who Blog about fitness & health. I am so intrigued.



I would love to attend one of them to expand my knowledge about fitness, health, and being a better blogger in general!

This weekend the boyfriend and I will be going to this huge feista in the park thing where it's like hundreds of vendors out at this really popular park downtown! I'm so excited I love those types of things. I imagine it's going to be like a farmer's market on crack.





Here's a quick Friday workout for those who need it!

Warm UP:

1 min: jog in place
20 side to side leg swings (right)
20 front to back leg swings (right)
20 side to side leg swings (left)
20 front to back leg swings (left)
30 secs of squats
30 secs of high knees

Now work it OUT

10 burpees
30 sec plank
20 mountain climbers (10 each leg)
30 sec plank
20 squats
20 lunges (10 each leg)
30 sec high knees
30 sec break
Now repeat THREE TIMES!
or more if you dare:)

Remember to stretch afterwards :)

Today's workout + injury?!

Today's workout.
5 single leg circles (per leg)
5 squat knees (per leg)
30 sec wall squat
40 squats with front kick (per side)
24 single leg deadlifts (per side)
 3 mile walk (yawn - I want to run!)


Yes yes I think I got it in today! How did you start off April? 



Anywho, so I believe I may have an injury :(. It could be from running or other things. The problem I think is with my sciatic nerve. So it's like this dull ache that starts in the center of my right bootay (tmi?) area that goes down my thigh. From my research it could be my piriformis muscle being inflamed and irritate the nerve which could cause piriformis syndrome or it could be herniated disc, a joint dysfunction, etc etc. :( . To say I'm not worried would be a lie which is why I'm not running on it just in case that could cause it to  become worst. I have been icing it and relaxing. It hasn't bothered me too much for the last couple days but I refrain from too much strenuous activities and stretch more (when I remember). I have an appointment to see a chiropractic anyway on Thursday, so I'll get some x-rays and things done then and hopefully will know more as well. Until then it'll be simple lower body workouts and I'll focus more on my core and upper body! Keep me in your prayers! I wanna run!!

Don't you just HATE when...

You try something new and it's not as amazing as you wanted it to be in you head. Pictures on food sets you up for failure at times! But we will get to that in a second as well as my awesome breakfast!

So I have figured out that it's just not my week. First my hip, now my right foot. When I did Insanity on Tuesday my right foot started hurting me really bad and I didn't know if it was because of the new shoes I were wearing or the pressure of insanity or -insert some obnoxious thing here-.  But today when I went out for a run (because thankfully my hip is feeling better after resting and icing it) and before I could get down my stairs I felt my foot feeling some sort of way like if I ran it wouldn't turn out well. So I decided to just walk a mile or two. Ended up being just a little over a mile because my foot started hurting. Now I'm not in my new shoes, I'm in my normal running shoes (which do indeed need to be replaced) so I figured it must not have been my new shoes it must just be my poor little tink tink of a foot. So I came home and iced it for a bet and figure hopefully it will be better by Saturday. I have a 5K on saturday! I might have to walk it though or not even do it. I am going to go for another walk tomorrow and see how that goes. If it bothers me than I'm just not going to go to the 5K. LUCKILY, I can do the 5K as a virtual option and still can my medal :-). I love getting bling. Though I only have one medal -_-.







So yeah just isn't my week.

In better news, I did get to do Insanity today. Hold you horses, it is Cardio Recovery day, which means no intense cardio like pylometrics or any type of crazy jumping. Just planks, squats, lunges, and yoga type stretches. I enjoyed it actually! Controlled movements are known to build great definition! A post related to Insanity alone will be posted on Saturday / Sunday after completing the first week!

Back to food, well today was goodbye Green smoothies hello EGGS and MEAT and everything in between!

So I woke up excited. Had my cup of warm water and lemon and then proceeded to fix my breakfast sammich! I am still a bread / carb eater so yes I eat bread. I love bread. Bread is low-key my life. Though I want to become somewhat paleo. I read somewhere that the type of Paleo I want to be is a 80/20 paleo. Meaning I eat Paleo 80% of the time and then the other 20% is whatever! I can do that but at the moment I am still learning about clean eating and such. It is forever a learning process. Healthy eating that is.

So back to my delicious messy breakfast. I had an egg white, spinach, and turkey bacon with cheese english muffin. The way it all blended into my taste buds sent me momentarily to heaven. It got a little messy when I was making it. I usually use my mini frying pan but instead I tried using my pancake maker (yes I have one, I am obsessed with pancakes) - well long story short it was MESSY! But I just scraped up the goodness and slapped it between my muffin and tore it up!




Now lunch....  I had planned on having a spinach wrap at lunch from my job but I worked from home today instead. Woke up late and just stayed home. So because of that I had to figure out something else. Well lucky me I had brought this organic ravioli the other day and was happy to be able to try it.








Well let's just say it wasn't amazing. It wasn't bad! Don't get me wrong it just wasn't as amazing as I wanted it to be. I also mixed them in a little bit of Organic tomato & basil pasta sauce. I tried eating them plain and it wasn't happening lol. So yeah I don't know if I'd buy them again but I would suggest others to try them. Plenty of different kinds.

Anywho,  let me know when there was a time when you got all excited about eating something and it just let you down! What was it? Did you still eat it?
