My boyfriend is a pusher....

Yup. He's a pusher.
He made me go to Sweet!
I have only had Sweet! once before
and I remember I felt like I was eating diabetes.
So I never went back.
But people swear by this place.
I mean the owner is a two time winner of Cupcake Wars.
& maybe a third time???!

But he wanted something Sweet
particularly a cupcake and Gigi's is about 20 mins away
& was closed by 9pm.
But Sweet! was still open.
He had never been.
So we went. So he forced me to go.
I stuck to getting mini's though.
No I couldn't say no.
Sorry it's cake.

Who says no to that?!
Crazy people I say.
Anywho I ended up with these bad boys (PB&J & Smores)

and he got this big boy (Red Velvet).

Now the mini was all I needed.
I only ate one. The PB&J one.

I have been talking about a PB&J cupcake
sense I had the ultramini one in New York during Christmas time.
It was yummy I must say.
But I still think Gigi's is my heart & soul.
The other one will be eaten tonight.
Yup.

Sure will.
Won't be wasted if it's under this here roof.
After this one.
No more cupcakes til ----- next weekend.
I promise.
Work hard. Train hard. Eat a cupcake.
Occasionally :).

What is a dessert you just can't say no to if it's placed in front of you?
Do you have a favorite cupcake spot?
Did you workout today? How was it?!

Sinful Sunday: Confessions of a gator tater eater.

Yesterday was a live in the moment kind of day. Food wise.
For breakfast and lunch I ate healthy.
I had oatmeal with strawberries for breakfast.
A salad with pineapples, orange slices, dried cherries, a couple walnuts, and balsamic dressing for lunch.

Dinner is where the indulgence came in.
Me and le boyfriend went out to dinner at this place called Gator Dockside.
It's like a typical burger, fries, wings type of joint.
We had never been and wanted to try it out.
I ordered wings (honey mustard flavor and a special sauce called Scooter)
and also the gator taters.
The gator taters were soooo yummy.
A big bowl of unhealthy goodness.
Potatoes, cheese, bacon, and ranch dressing.

I also ate some of his fries.
They were really good too.
The wings were okay.
& he ordered a burger and it was just average as well.
I doubt we will go back.
For dessert we picked up some cupcakes from this new cupcake joint.
Gigi's Cupcakes.
Anyone been there?

I got the Banana Cream Pie cupcake.

Description: Yellow cake with a vanilla filling, topped with banana buttercream frosting, crushed vanilla wafers and a wafer on top.
I am lowkey a monkey in disguise and love me some 'naners and this was delicious!

Le Boyfriend got two: Wedding Cake and Strawberry & Cream.
These were really good as well!
Like yum yum yummy!
I can't wait to go back.

More confessions from last week:

I also made some more Monkey Bread.
I wanted the boyfriend to try it.
He likes it.
I actually made a whole loaf/pan this time instead of individuals!

Saturday at the Feista in the Park
I had a Gyro.
I only had about 3 maybe 4 bites before I gave it to my boyfriend.
I didn't like it.
The chicken wasn't seasoned well enough for me.
I ate a couple bites of his (he had lamb)
and it was much better.

Saturday night I was craving something ultra sweet.
I usually keep Pinkberry (Favorite Frozen Yogurt Spot) in my fridge. Whenever I go, I buy it by the pint.
So yeah I fixed me a little of that
and then topped it with some sour patch kids.
I love sour patch kids.
Top of my favorite candy list.

Well I think that is my confessions for last week.
I think I ate healthy most of the time.
If you ignore this weekend...

How was your weekend?
Did you indulge in anything?
Banana's or apples?

Weekend fun! 10 miles & more :)

Saturday was a great day! Woke up and me and two of my friends went running with my running group for our standing saturday run. Always a great time and a great way to start off a Saturday!

Later that day I went to one of my close friends Bridal Shower! I am so happy to be apart of this time with her! I love seeing people in love and being in love and witnessing love. I just love LOVE!

I loved my outfit for the bridal shower! I was looking fierce hunni!

Sunday was the day I challenged myself then ate really good (Not as a reward for running 10 miles I promise!). I ran 10 miles Sunday morning! My longest run ever! Prior to that it was 8 miles. Yeah I think I am truly an official runner now lol. I did it in 1hr and 44 mins! Pretty awesome if you ask me! Now everyone wants to know when my first half marathon will be. HOLD YOUR HORSES PEOPLE! I'm not ready yet!

Stopped and took a pic as I ran over a bridge

Made it to the halfway point. The Prime Outlets.

ran along President Barack Obama parkway :)

These gave me the extra energy I needed every 40 mins!

St. Patty Day inspired Pom Poms!

So after running it was time to EAT! Me and a few of my friends went out to Keke's for breakfast because some were visiting from out of town. Keke's is an awesome breakfast spot in Orlando. I am obsessed (as mentioned before) with pancakes and they serve pancakes bigger than my face! All the other food is delicious as well but I'm positive some kind of crack is in the pancake mix as well as the toast.
Yup ALL MINES! Blueberry pancake with strawberries and bananas on top, cinnamon raisin toast, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, home fries(potatoes).

Then after that me and my girl booski that was visiting from out of town went to the farmer's market to get some stuff for dinner as well as do what we do best, people watch. It was a great day to just sit and relax at the park and watch people who don't know that they're being watched. If you don't people watch, you're missing out on life!!

After all that, we ended up going to a shopping center and doing a little bit of shopping. We both have problems. We admit it.

Finally we ended up back home and rested a bit. Though I should have been doing homework but I had been up since 5:30 and I needed a mini nap after eating my breakfast leftovers!

That night I learned that following directions when it comes to a new mandolin is key. More on that later as well as the recipe for this amazing dinner that I cooked. Zucchini Lasagna!

Dinner was followed with another treat (hey I ran 10 miles that morning). On Friday I had a groupon that was expiring at this ice cream shop (Brusters) and ended up having to get 6 oreo ice cream sandwiches. All for myself! JK! I popped those bad boys in my freezer for treats for when I really feel like I deserve something awesome in my life. Which included Sunday night in that moment. It was so so awesome. I can't even describe how awesome. Mmmmmh ice cream.

What is your favorite breakfast spot?
How do you usually spend your sundays?
Do you people watch?

Ooh Ooh Yum Yum - Monkey Bread!!

OMG it has been such a busy week and currently I am going through one of those moments were I think I must have waited too long to eat because I KEEP eating. It's either that or the fact that it's that time of the month. You women out there know how it goes. No matter how strong you are doing that time, you will give in to things. At least I do and I try not to feel guilty about it! I'm really just trying to get to the place where I don't feel any guilt about anything I eat because I know that I eat healthy and well majority of the time and I workout hard! Shoot this week alone I've been doing two a days. That's two workouts a day for all you that don't know. I've been running and I've been doing insanity! I must be insane. Anyway quick over view of last weekend!

I came in 3rd in my age group at the 5K I did on Saturday!! Yayyy me!  Though they didn't give out awards to third place -_- just first place! Just my luck!

It was only 4 people in my age group but still I did awesome and I PR'd! For my non runners that means I beat my own personal record for 5K races! Prior to this one my personal best (in a 5K race) was 31:40! So this 28:27 felt so good!! We also got BLING(medals) for running! I run for the bling!

On Saturday I came home and decided I would treat myself! So I made some "healthy" monkey bread. Might not be totally healthy but I'm sure it's healthier than the real thing but taste just as amazing and with much less calories! They were soooo delicious! I ate two o_O on Saturday and Sunday lol and then one on Monday and the last one on Tuesday. I was so sad. These will be a staple once every few weeks snack! I am going to try to make it even healthier next time!!

So here it is! Enjoy the deliciousness :)

Sidenote: I actually did 3 of them with using truvia & the other 3 using light agave nectar! Both came out equally delicious. Though the agave ones were a little more high in calories!

Single Serve - Monkey Bread!

Ingredients:
1) 2 can of reduced fat crescent rolls
2) 1/2 cup of Sugar Free Maple Syrup
3) 1 tbsp Light Butter or Butter Spray (I used spray!)
4) 3 tbsp of ground cinnamon
5) 2 tbsp (4 packets) of truvia (or sweetener of choice that measures like sugar)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 12 cup muffin tin with non stick spray or use a on stick muffin tin!

Open up both cans of the crescent rolls and cut eat crescent triangle into 3 somewhat equal size pieces and then roll them into balls. Just eye ball them once rolled. Some will be a tad bit smaller or bigger than others. The balls shouldn't be toooo big though. Smaller than golf balls but large enough so that 4 of them can fit into each muffin tin nicely! You should have 24 balls per can so 48 total!

Now combine the truvia with just 2 tbsp of cinnamon in a small bowl. Toss the dough balls in the mixture (It's like cinnamon sugar!) until the balls are coated nicely! I put mine in tupperware (with a top over it) and then shook it! (This was harder with the agave nectar  & cinnamon mixture because it was a more wet mixture)

the "cinnamon sugar"

balls tossed in cinnamon sugar mix

balls tossed in cinnamon agave mix

Next take your butter and melt it in a microwave safe bowl for about 30 seconds or until melted. Once the butter is melted, add the syrup and extra tbsp of cinnamon to the butter and stir. Set aside for a second.

Get your nicely rolled balls of dough and place four balls into each individual muffin tin. Next take the butter syrup mixture and pour mixture over each muffin tin until the balls are almost covered in the syrup mixture. There may not be enough in which you can whip up a little more or add a little more syrup to each tin!

Place into the heated oven and back for about 15 - 20 minutes or until a caramelized crust forms on the top of each little monkey bread delight!

Remove and let cool and then serve them up! Best when warm!!

Servings: 12 individuals scrumptious monkey breads! (I only made 6! Just divide the recipe in half!)
Calories: Can vary but mine were about 145 (truvia) and 165(agave nectar)

This recipe is compliments of Dashing Dish! Check her out! Awesome recipes I can't wait to try!
