16 days and counting.

Greetings!! So I fell completely off the wagon since Saturday before last. I went to Miami and every since then I haven't been on my eating on working out game. Sigh. It upsets me to be on this yoyo thing. I feel like I won't ever reach my goal but I am always going somewhere and you know how it goes when you go on a vacation . I go on a seafood diet.

So I am getting strict yet again starting today. Today and the next two days I am doing a detox and then I will be on a healthy eating kick. But as always (as of late) I have another mini vacay coming up in 16 days. So yeah I know it might be a repeat but I'm hoping not so much or at least maybe I might find time to workout on this trip. I really want to reach my goal. It will only take 3 or 4 months to get there and how this year has flew by, that is not long at all but unfortunately, ish isn't always that simple. I know I don't have that drive like I need too. But it's crazy because I've come so far. 100lbs later and 2 years later I'm still struggling to lose these last 20 to 30lbs. It's ridiculous but that's what they say, the last pounds are the hardest.  Definitely though after this trip, I don't have any more planned until December so I'm praying I reach my ultimate goal before 2015!

What are some tips you have for losing those final pounds?
What about for when you're on vacation? Some place where there will be food galore?

Is it too late for my summer body?

After vacationing for 5 weeks, you might have guessed that I am not the same size I was prior to leaving. I did exercise about 6 times in 30 days (at least I exercised!) but.... Eating all those yummy crepes in France, or those Belgium fries and waffles, and lets not forget that gelato and all that pasta in Italy might have offset those workouts. Even with all the walking we were doing. Yes my stomach and taste buds truly enjoyed my trip but I have packed on the pounds! Was it worth it? Hmmm.... absolutely. You only live once and I don't regret it but it may be too late for my summer body! Or is it?!

On Saturday I started back on my fitness and health journey. I created my own meal plan and workout plan because I'm fancy like that. I took my before pictures and weight and in 21 days I will see my progress and share it with you guys. 21 days from Saturday is also a beach day for me with my sorority sisters sooo hmmm maybe I can still get that summer body in time for the beach!

My meal plan consists of the normal clean eating things. Lots of fruits, veggies, lean meats. Limited carbs. Limited to no sweets. Trying to limit my added sugar intake as much as possible at least for the 21 days! Of course drinking a hell of a lot of H20 because I surely didn't drink enough in Europe. I blame it on the fact that I had to pay to use public restrooms. Yes you read that correctly.

My workout plan is a little different then my normal workouts. I'm incorporating lots of yoga and then also running / cardio and possibly some belly dancing. I'm trying to switch things up a bit.

I hope to lose 6 to 10lbs over the next 21 days. I will keep you guys updated weekly on my progress and how I'm feeling and whether or not I'm sticking to my plans. I'm really going to try hard to stay on track. Feel free to tweet me or hit me up on my Facebook page to help me stay motivated!

Some inspiration for YOU!

Happy Wednesday!! I thought I'd come to you all today with some inspiration and motivation. There are plenty of times on my journey when I have inspired myself just by seeing how far I've come. Never belittle your fitness and weight loss accomplishments (or any accomplishment for that matter). You've worked hard and you deserve some praise for it! Today, I hope this video below will motivate and inspire you to push even harder.

So, you know what today is right!?

It's Friday. That's all. In case y'all needed a reminder on how the days of the week work.  So in my head, I had so many great posts for this week, but then I let laziness take over and haven't set aside the time to do the post. Bad me.

Bombshell Transformation!! She lost 80lbs!

This week's Bombshell is Ronni who has lost 80lbs!

Her transformation is amazing and she did it all by herself with hardwork and dedication. She's a single mother with a full time job who still makes time for her health by doing boot camps, crossfit, and weight lifting!

Here's a little Q&A with Ronni...

Like what you see in the mirror.

 Excuse my 'jamies.

I was scrolling through one of my many health and fitness magazines when I came across the cut out that is now permanently taped to my bathroom door as you can see in the picture above. You can only read it correctly through a mirror. I saw it and thought, "I need to see this every day. It will be my new mantra." Like what you see in the mirror.

You see I don't think I've ever fully liked what I saw in the mirror. Being chubby as a child, overweight as a teenager, and obese as a young adult can really do that to someone. Even after losing over a 100lbs it is still a daily struggle. My mindset hasn't fully adapted to my new healthier slimmer body. I don't always see what everyone else sees now. Negative thoughts still somehow find their way into my mind. It's disheartening and a daily struggle that I face.

Seeing yourself fat for over a decade will do that to you.

Weekend fun! 10 miles & more :)

Saturday was a great day! Woke up and me and two of my friends went running with my running group for our standing saturday run. Always a great time and a great way to start off a Saturday!

Later that day I went to one of my close friends Bridal Shower! I am so happy to be apart of this time with her! I love seeing people in love and being in love and witnessing love. I just love LOVE!

I loved my outfit for the bridal shower! I was looking fierce hunni!

Sunday was the day I challenged myself then ate really good (Not as a reward for running 10 miles I promise!). I ran 10 miles Sunday morning! My longest run ever! Prior to that it was 8 miles. Yeah I think I am truly an official runner now lol. I did it in 1hr and 44 mins! Pretty awesome if you ask me! Now everyone wants to know when my first half marathon will be. HOLD YOUR HORSES PEOPLE! I'm not ready yet!

Stopped and took a pic as I ran over a bridge

Made it to the halfway point. The Prime Outlets.

ran along President Barack Obama parkway :)

These gave me the extra energy I needed every 40 mins!

St. Patty Day inspired Pom Poms!

So after running it was time to EAT! Me and a few of my friends went out to Keke's for breakfast because some were visiting from out of town. Keke's is an awesome breakfast spot in Orlando. I am obsessed (as mentioned before) with pancakes and they serve pancakes bigger than my face! All the other food is delicious as well but I'm positive some kind of crack is in the pancake mix as well as the toast.
Yup ALL MINES! Blueberry pancake with strawberries and bananas on top, cinnamon raisin toast, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, home fries(potatoes).

Then after that me and my girl booski that was visiting from out of town went to the farmer's market to get some stuff for dinner as well as do what we do best, people watch. It was a great day to just sit and relax at the park and watch people who don't know that they're being watched. If you don't people watch, you're missing out on life!!

After all that, we ended up going to a shopping center and doing a little bit of shopping. We both have problems. We admit it.

Finally we ended up back home and rested a bit. Though I should have been doing homework but I had been up since 5:30 and I needed a mini nap after eating my breakfast leftovers!

That night I learned that following directions when it comes to a new mandolin is key. More on that later as well as the recipe for this amazing dinner that I cooked. Zucchini Lasagna!

Dinner was followed with another treat (hey I ran 10 miles that morning). On Friday I had a groupon that was expiring at this ice cream shop (Brusters) and ended up having to get 6 oreo ice cream sandwiches. All for myself! JK! I popped those bad boys in my freezer for treats for when I really feel like I deserve something awesome in my life. Which included Sunday night in that moment. It was so so awesome. I can't even describe how awesome. Mmmmmh ice cream.

What is your favorite breakfast spot?
How do you usually spend your sundays?
Do you people watch?

Now this is March Madness!

I sometimes think my brain needs to be examined for insanity.

So I think challenging yourself is important. It keeps your body guessing and working out exciting - kind of .  Depending on your definition of exciting. Mine is pretty twisted.

My own personal march madness is as follows:

  • Run AT LEAST a mile a day. If my body is too tired - walk that mile! No days off! Madness indeedy!
  • Run 70 miles. 5 more miles than I ran last month.
  • Be a beast with Insanity. Won't let Shaun T get the best of me!
  • Daily Yoga Poses with Grow Soul Beautiful & The Ultimate Fitspo

  • And for some reason I agreed to do this as well. After panting like I was just chased by a dog this  and yesterday morning this is really going to be a true test of my madness. Burpee challenge

Well let's see how crazy I can be. I took on these challenges and I will fight to be successful with them.
Make goals! March Maaaaddnnnessss!

First Blog Post. Shaking in my boots!

Hey all you beautiful people out there in the world!!
Welcome to my blog! It's my first official post - obviously - and I have no idea what I want to say. I guess I can start with the fact that I've lost 110lbs and go from there! Well as you just read I've lost 110lbs over the course of 3 years. The first 100 was lost between January 2010 & January 2012. Gain about 10lbs back and now I've lost those 10lbs and 10 more bringing me to an amazing 110lb lost! This journey has been so amazing and really allowed me to get to know the real me and I just want to start being an inspiration to others as well as getting inspired by others. That is my life's goal to inspire and motivate people to get fit and healthy. Fitness is fun! Being healthy is awesome. Losing weight isn't easy but it has been so worth it. My journey is far from over and that is why I decided it's not to late to start this blog.

Today I started the #great48 challenge. It's an instagram challenge hosted by instagramer deactivatedfatgirl. It's a 48 day program (6 weeks and 6 days) where people compete to win a fabulous prize of Beats By Dre & a 100 iTunes gift card. You win by getting the most likes on your before & after shots. I don't care about the prize - great prizes! - but unlike some I don't need that to motivate me and this is just something I thought would be fun to do. Besides hopefully by being apart of this I can help motivate and inspire others to push themselves during these 48 days and thereafter.

So that's pretty much my reasoning for starting this blog. There are other reasons too but I'll leave it at that for now. I hope I get some readers and followers but if not, that won't stop my show! I just hope to inspire at least one person and then I will be satisfied. Though hundreds would be awesome
